 Thirteen villages in various fields

 To the north of the department of Hautes-Alpes, in edge of the National park of the Jewel cases, the mountain of Serre-Chevalier culminating to 2.491 m gave its name to the whole of the station installed along the valley of Guisane..
Included in the "Large Serre Che", between 1.200 m and 1.800 m: 111 tracks, is 250 km, for all the levels of ski, in altitude or in the medium of the forests of larches, 45 km of basic ski pistes and Eagle Free, installations specific for the followers of the slipped news (open of 10 H to 21 H, lit, wired for sound and animated). Without forgetting 76 ski lifts: 3 cable cars, 6 telpher carriers, 18 chair-lifts and 49 skis-lift. And, on more than 38 km of tracks, 300 snow-blowers guarantee an optimal snowing up.
Profiting from a Mediterranean sunning, Serre-Chevalier proposes, be like winter, of the most varied leisures, the cascade of ice in the heart of the station, the pedestrian excursions or in rackets while passing by a circuit of control on ice, of the natural hot water basins, the museums of traditional and crowned art...
Among the assets of the resort, its great accessibility: TGV (stations of Grenoble and Oulx), traditional trains, car (Paris is to 665 km, Marseilles to 270 km, Lyon to 208 km, Grenoble to 108 km, Turin to 108 km), all the means are good and fast. A covered carpark was built near the Village Club Med. Enfin, Serre-Chevalier has given to the French ski one its great champions: Luc Alphand.

In the country
The station consists in thirteen villages, themselves gathered in various fields: Serre Chevalier 1200, Serre-Chevalier 1350, Serre-Chevalier 1400 (where the Club Med Village is) and Serre Chevalier 1500. The whole of the skiable field joined together under the crowned eagle emblem thus extends from Briançon to Monêtier-les-Bains.

The Club Med family village

In fact, this Village resembles a hamlet of about fifteen country cottages. Outside, wood and the stone prevail. The colors of the roofs and the frontages do not have anything uniform and irrisistibly evoke those of the small village of Bez, gathered around its old bell-tower, a hundred meters further!
A little low, in the valley, is the borough of Villeneuve la Salle: no the high building nor of construction disfiguring the landscape: the station of Serre-Chevalier knew to preserve his human dimension and the purity of its environment. To the foot of the tracks, when the Village is looked at, nothing comes to disturb the landscape in background: with 180°, one contemplates only the mountain... Even visual pleasure when one is in the immense space of reception of the Village: one can admire without obstacle the point of Rochebrune with, with far, Italy.
If the larches form in summer a bosky bower all around the Med Club, these trees losing their needles in winter offer an unexpected advantage: they make it possible snow to completely cover the slopes, which other conifers cannot make "sheltering" often ground plates and stones. The skiers and the hikers will appreciate.
Built by the Club Méditerranée, the new Village of Serre-Chevalier allowed the architect Jean-Pierre Chiantello and the decorator Jean-Michel De Ambroggio, in relation to the architect consulting of the Med Club, to leave free course to their talent. Once crossed impressing it wood porch of the Village, one discovers immense spaces where reign the light. Thick fitted carpet, hot colors, traditional wood and materials, the reception, the bar, the theatre, the restaurant - on the floor -, breathe comfort and IE wellbeing. To still assemble level gives access space children. And what a space! More than 1.500 m2 divided into various rooms of activities (a specific framing is ensured for the children as from 4 months), opening on a vast terrace.
The 350 rooms disseminated in the various buildings - but all connected to central spaces - are conceived for 80 % of them for the families and can accomodate 4 people. A room for the parents, a separate space salon/chambre equipped with two simple beds, here is for the practical aspect (in traditional hotel trade, one would call them "junior suite"). Side decoration, wood and the mountain spirit prevail.
Change of decoration in a space which should ravir the G.M of return of the tracks: a vast interior swimming pool, a basin for the children, a sauna, a hammam, rooms of fitness, beauty and re-arrangement, await them in a camaieu of colors this Mediterranean time. Relaxation and guaranteed change of environment.
But one of the principal secrecies of the new Village of Serre-Chevalier resides at the lower level entirely reserved for the ski: a great space Ski Service for the hiring and the maintenance of the hardware, the arrangements for all to store and, especially, a gate opening on snow; because to Serre-Chevalier, one leaves and one returns to the Village skis to the feet! A few hundred meters soft inclined makes it possible to gain the starting points of the ski-lift, and a track was especially created to make it possible the G.M to directly join the Med Club since the nodes. Thus, not of wasted time or tiresome transfers: 100 % ski, 100 % pleasure. Then remain to enjoy all the offer Club Med as regards leisures, of animations and life made in Med Club with all the G.0 team and G.E.
