Med not only saved the site’s hundred-year old olive trees and date palms, it also created a Garden of Eden: 12,000 palms and other trees, as well as 28,000 shrubs (including 5,000 rose bushes and 11,000 robust plants) were planted before the Village opened. All this greenery is watered with recycled water so that none of this precious resource is wasted. More than 1000 workers spent 16 months expressing all the beauty and skill of their ancestral know-how. Its immense 2,500 square meter entrance (giving access to the reception area), cupolas, matching columns decorated with burnt bricks and Andalusia gardens crossed by small traditional irrigation canals create the special harmony and love of life that typify Marrakech La Palmeraie.

A new Club Med is born

At the end of 2004, Marrakech Village included a third, long-awaited site that marks a turning-point in Club Med’s story. At the heart of La Palmeraie, Le Riad offers a never-before-seen level of comfort and service. Le Riad represents the most luxurious luxury accommodations. The rooms are actually suites of 48 square meters (bedroom, salon, dressing room and spacious bathroom with separate baths and showers).
